Amazon Drone Delivery Service Wins Over Skeptical User

Tamara Hancock is a content creator and professor who has used Amazon's Prime Air drone delivery service over a dozen times since it became available in her area. She finds the convenience, novelty, and fun of drone delivery to be worth the extra cost. Hancock lives in the greater Phoenix area, one of the first areas to have access to Amazon's Prime Air drone delivery service.

She has used the service for both practical purposes, such as ordering reeds for her daughter's clarinet practice, and for content creation. Hancock says that the 35 seconds of noise from the drone are no more annoying than other common sounds in her area, such as a neighbor's leaf blower or airplanes flying overhead.

Hancock has also experimented with fragile items to see if they would break during delivery. She found that a bottle of drink syrup delivered by drone had its lid crack and break when it hit the edge of her cement patio. Hancock notes that she is able to choose where her packages are dropped, but technical issues have prevented her from moving her drop spot.
