Amazon Drone Drops Package in Pool During Texas Delivery

A Texas woman received an unexpected delivery from Amazon's Prime Air program when her package was dropped into her backyard swimming pool by a drone. Lindsey Austen, of Richmond, Texas, reported that she had received an Alert that her package was out for delivery via drone and went outside to see the drone in action.

When the drone opened its hatch and dropped the package down into the pool, Austen said she was 'shocked' and 'won't be wanting any more drone deliveries.'

Amazon released a statement following the incident, stating that Prime Air provides customers with fast and reliable delivery across a broad selection of products, and that incidents are extremely rare.
