Jim Cramer says Amazon's CEO Andy Jassy recently flipped the market's perception of Big Tech's massive artificial intelligence investments. According to Cramer, investors were previously skeptical about how these investments would pay off.

However, during Amazon's earnings call, Jassy provided a clear explanation of how the company plans to monetize its AI spending. He explained that the upfront investment goes towards building data centers and outfitting them with servers and networking equipment.

Once those facilities come online, they begin generating revenue almost immediately and can be monetized for decades without incurring additional startup costs, Jassy said.

Cramer believes that this explanation gave investors a clear line of sight on how Amazon's AI investments will translate into future returns. He noted that Amazon's stock soared to its biggest one-day gain in over a decade after the earnings call.
