Amazon Essentials: A Surprising Upgrade to Everyday Wardrobe Staples
A style writer from Women's Health recently tested Amazon Essentials, the in-house clothing brand of Amazon, for four weeks to see if it lives up to its promise. The writer chose a range of everyday wardrobe staples, including jeans, a white t-shirt, shorts, leggings, a button-down shirt, and sneakers.
The results showed that Amazon Essentials overdelivers on quality for the price. The writer praised the wide-leg jeans as 'flattering and stylish looking,' rivaling more expensive brands like Abercrombie and Gap. They also liked the relaxed-fit cotton t-shirt, which was soft, breathable, and had just enough stretch.
The low-top retro sneaker was another surprise hit, with a comfortable fit right out of the box and no break-in period required. However, the writer noted that it's not super cushioned and might not be suitable for high-impact activities.
The button-down shirt was also well-received, with a breathable and soft fabric blend and endless styling potential. However, the fit leaned more straight and slim than preferred by the writer, who would have liked a more relaxed silhouette.
In general, the Amazon Essentials collection impressed the writer with its quality and affordability. While it may not dethrone high-end brands in every category, it's definitely worth considering for everyday wardrobe essentials.
