Amazon Expands Data Center Presence in Texas with New Campus Plans
Amazon is expanding its data center presence in Texas with new campus plans filed in Fort Stockton, Floydada, and Boling. The company has applied to develop six buildings across two campuses in West Texas, including a 559-acre site outside Fort Stockton known as Project Horizon.
The largest development will be at the Pecos County Data Center, where Amazon plans to build three facilities with a total of 1,137,180 square feet and an investment of $1.8 billion. Construction is expected to run from August 2026 to December 2027.
A separate campus in Floydada will feature three buildings with the same specifications as those in Fort Stockton. Amazon has also filed to expand its planned Project Eagle data center campus outside Houston, where six new buildings will be added to the original four.
