Amazon Expands Drone Delivery to 500 US Cities in Ambitious Growth Plan
Amazon is expanding its drone delivery service to nearly 500 US cities by the end of this year, aiming to deliver lightweight packages within 30 minutes. This expansion will allow Amazon to serve an estimated 30 million customers and deliver half a billion packages by 2030.
The free service for Prime members on orders over $50 will intensify competition with Walmart, which also uses drones alongside drivers.
Amazon expects drones to play a significant role in its delivery network despite challenges like regulatory hurdles and delivery limitations.
