Amazon Expands In-Scene Shopping to Over 8,000 Titles on Prime Video
Amazon has expanded its in-scene shopping feature on Prime Video, allowing viewers to discover products linked to the content they are watching. The company is integrating shopping into its existing X-Ray experience and introducing 'Shop the Scene', which uses Amazon's visual search technology, Amazon Lens, to surface products inspired by items appearing on screen.
The new feature allows users to select an image from a title and use Amazon Lens to identify products or visually similar items associated with elements in the scene. This includes characters' clothing and home décor. The technology does not necessarily return an exact product match, particularly where the item is unavailable through Amazon or its sellers.
Amazon has also simplified its existing second-screen shopping experience on Fire TV devices. Previously, viewers had to search for 'shop the show' within the Amazon Shopping app. Now, opening the app while watching a movie or show can take users directly to the storefront associated with that title.
