Amazon has acquired 70 acres of land in Aurora, Colorado, for nearly $23.6 million as part of its plan to build a massive distribution center. The e-commerce giant purchased the parcel at 825 N. Lisbon St. from Northpoint Development on August 21.

The new facility will span approximately 1.2 million square feet and include distribution, warehousing, offices, parking, truck yards, employee drop-off areas, and amenities for workers. Amazon plans to turn this site into a key logistics hub to support its delivery network and enable selling partners to get products closer to customers.

The development could create up to 1,200 new jobs in the area, both full-time and part-time positions. This is not Amazon's first infrastructure project in Colorado; it recently opened a cross-dock site in Aurora and has other facilities in Englewood and Loveland.
