Amazon Expands Louisiana Footprint with New Operations Center

Amazon is expanding its presence in Louisiana by opening a new operations center in Baton Rouge. The facility, located at 8800 Tom Drive, will be an 'operations center' but Amazon did not specify its function. This will be the fourth Amazon facility in metro Baton Rouge, joining the Cortana Place center, a regional sortation center in Port Allen, and a distribution center off Rieger Road.

The new facility is part of a larger industrial real estate trend in the southeast region of the country, where there is strong demand for available warehouse space. Ratcliff Development created the 61 North Logistics Center with the intention of filling this gap in the market.
