Amazon Web Services (AWS) is reportedly in talks to build a data center campus next to the Homer City Energy Campus in Indiana County, PA. This development comes after Amazon already pledged $20 billion for data centers in eastern Pennsylvania.

The news was broken via TribLive, which obtained emails through a Right-to-Know request showing Amazon has been discussing the project with Homer City Redevelopment (HCR). The HCR company is converting an old coal plant site into a 3,200-acre natural gas-fired power plant and data center campus.

The planned Homer City Energy Campus would be a massive operation, generating 4.5 gigawatts of power. Amazon has confirmed the talks but stated that no deal has been signed yet. The company's exact plans for the project are still unknown.
