Amazon Fix Coming for Sideloading Issue on Older Fire TV Devices
A bug in the Fire TV Settings update has been causing issues for some users who sideload apps on their devices.
The issue, which was first reported by users when Amazon rolled out an update last month, caused Downloader, a popular sideloading service developed by AFTV News, to stop working.
This led users to worry that Amazon was cracking down on sideloading for older devices, as the latest Fire TV Stick HD no longer supports this feature. However, it appears that the bug was not intentional and is now being fixed.
Amazon has confirmed that a fix will be rolled out in an upcoming Fire TV Settings update, which will be installed automatically on affected devices over the coming week.
