Amazon Flight Crashes at Miami Airport, Leaving Five Dead and Five Injured

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has released new details on the Amazon flight crash that left five dead and five injured. The plane, operated by 21 Air Flight 7598 from San Juan, Puerto Rico to Miami, Florida, overran the runway after landing around 2 p.m. at Miami International Airport and struck multiple vehicles before coming to rest in a field.

The NTSB's chair, Jennifer Homendy, painted a grim scene of the aftermath, describing it as 'devastating' with tire marks leading from the paved surface into the grass, debris everywhere, and components from both the aircraft and passenger vehicles scattered around. The plane hit a 2012 white Ford Econoline van owned by Professional Ocean Service Corporation, which was occupied by seven people.

Homendy emphasized that the recovery of victims is 'most important' while investigators work to determine how the accident occurred and why it happened. The NTSB team includes 32 people who began arriving on scene at 6 p.m. Sunday night, collecting investigative information but not releasing it publicly until verified.
