Amazon Halts Operations with Cargo Carrier After Fatal Crash

Amazon has suspended its operations with cargo carrier 21 Air LLC after a fatal crash at Miami International Airport. The incident occurred on September 6, when a Boeing Co. 767 freighter operated by 21 Air overran the runway and crashed into two vehicles, killing five people on the ground.

The plane was carrying Amazon cargo at the time of the accident. According to details from the cockpit audio released by the US National Transportation Safety Board, one of the pilots had called for the landing to be aborted after the jet touched down with too much speed.

Amazon stated that it has decided to pause its operations with 21 Air and will continue working to support the investigation and everyone affected. The company said in a statement: 'We've spent time supporting the investigation and reviewing some of the surrounding circumstances, and we've decided to pause our operations with 21 Air.'
