Amazon Intern Falls to Death from Seattle Window
Dayanara Nicole Urbina Ruiz, a 21-year-old marketing intern at Amazon Web Services, died on July 30 from blunt-force trauma injuries after falling out of a window in Seattle. The King County medical examiner's office has ruled the incident an accident.
Rising senior at UCLA, Urbina Ruiz was working as part of the university's Phi Lambda Rho sorority, which celebrates Latina and Chicana women. Her family has started a fundraiser to help finance her funeral service, with over $25,000 raised so far.
Amazon spokesperson Montana MacLachlan said the company is 'deeply saddened' by Urbina Ruiz's passing and is providing support to her family and team during this difficult time.
