Amazon Job Scam Texts Resurface, Promising Unusually High Pay
A new wave of fake Amazon job texts is spreading, promising remote work paying as much as $600 per day. The scam uses different recruiter names and phone numbers but keeps the basic pitch intact, making it easy to spot.
The latest message claims to come from 'Lauren Whitmore' from the Amazon Remote Recruitment Team, saying that Amazon merchants need help with quick 'product refreshes.' It promises about 1-1.5 hours of work per day, four days a week, with pay ranging from $100 to $600 daily.
The scam also claims a $5,300 base for every 30 worked days, free training, and between 15 and 20 days of paid time off. However, it asks applicants to text 'More Info' to a separate phone number, which is a major red flag.
A July 2026 BBB Scam Tracker report shows a nearly identical Amazon scam with the same pitch, different recruiter names and phone numbers, and the same claims of unusually high pay. The FTC recommends verifying job offers through official channels and being cautious of unexpected job offers with vague job duties and high pay.
