Amazon Job Scam Texts Resurface with New Twist, Promising High Pay for Remote Work
A new version of an Amazon job scam text has been spreading, promising remote work for as little as one to 1.5 hours a day and paying up to $600 daily.
The message claims to be from Lauren Whitmore from the Amazon Remote Recruitment Team and offers 'stress-free, task-based remote positions' with a base pay of $5,300 every 30 days and 15-20 days of paid time off.
This scam is similar to one reported in July 2026 by the Better Business Bureau's Scam Tracker, which described someone claiming to represent Amazon's Remote Recruitment Team offering $100-$600 daily for 60-90 minutes of work per day.
Amazon spokesperson Kurt 'CyberGuy' Knutsson recommends not engaging with the sender and verifying the opportunity independently. He also advises reporting suspected scams through Amazon's official channels.
