Amazon Joins YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program

YouTube and Amazon have partnered to integrate e-commerce into creator-driven content on the video-sharing site. This move brings social commerce closer to checkout, allowing creators to tag Amazon products in their videos and earning commissions from sales.

The partnership allows eligible creators to participate in YouTube's Partner Program and Shopping Affiliate Program, as well as having an active Amazon Influencer or Associates account linked to their channel.

Amazon will provide a curated catalog of popular and trending products for creators to recommend. YouTube can automatically identify eligible Amazon products in videos when autotagging is enabled.

This deal marks another step towards making commerce native to digital content, blurring the lines between retailer, media platform, creator, and checkout.
