Amazon Lands in Austin with New Robotics Manufacturing Facility
Amazon has chosen Austin, Texas as the site for its new robotics manufacturing facility. The development is expected to create between 300 and 500 new jobs in manufacturing and engineering.
While Amazon did not provide details about the factory's size or completion date, it highlighted the state of Texas as an attractive location due to its business-friendly environment, access to global markets, and a deep pool of skilled talent. In fact, since 2010, the company has invested more than $100 billion in the state.
Amazon Vice President Holly Sullivan praised Austin's workforce, universities, and community partnerships as key factors in selecting the site for its new facility. The move is part of Amazon's continued investment in Texas, where it already employs over 86,000 full- and part-time workers.
