Amazon Locks Down Swedish Wind Power for Data Center Expansion

Amazon has secured long-term agreements to purchase electricity from four Swedish wind farms. The deals will support Amazon's data center expansion in Sweden, which requires significant power supply.

The four wind farms are developed by Eolus AB and OX2 AB, a company owned by private equity firm EQT AB. Once operational, the farms will add nearly 200 megawatts of electricity to Amazon's supply, bringing its total capacity in Sweden to almost 1 gigawatt.

This move aligns with Amazon's efforts to increase its reliance on renewable energy sources. The company aims to meet a significant portion of its power demand through clean energy initiatives, including partnerships with wind farm developers like Eolus and OX2 AB.
