Amazon Pharmacy Delivers Weight Management Medications to Medicare Patients

Amazon Pharmacy has launched a weight management medication delivery service for eligible Medicare patients. The service offers GLP-1 medications, including Wegovy, Zepbound KwikPen, and Foundayo, at $50 per month with free home delivery.

The medications are available through the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program, which is a short-term federal initiative that extends through December 31, 2027. The program enables eligible Medicare Part D members to access weight management prescriptions at a predictable and accessible cost.

Amazon Pharmacy has simplified enrollment by removing administrative burdens such as confusing paperwork, prior authorization delays, and long waits at the pharmacy counter. Once a clinician sends an electronic prescription, patients can add their Bridge insurance plan and Medicare details to their Amazon Pharmacy account, and the company handles the rest.

Eligible patients have several delivery options, including free home delivery nationwide, same-day delivery in over 3,100 cities and towns, and in-office pickup at select One Medical locations. Patients can also access licensed pharmacists and caregiver support through their Amazon account.

Around $300 million has been saved by customers on prescription medications, including GLP-1s and insulin, with total documented savings across Amazon's coupon programs exceeding $100 million.
