Amazon Poised to Overtake Nvidia as Most Profitable Company by 2030
UBS has predicted that Amazon's net income will reach $509 billion by 2030, surpassing Nvidia's projected $450 billion in net profits. This would make Amazon the world's most profitable company.
The projection is based on Amazon's growth in its cloud computing segment, AWS, which grew 37% year-over-year to $42.23 billion in revenue in Q2 FY2026. UBS expects AWS to grow even faster, reaching 48% in 2027 as OpenAI begins running workloads on Amazon's Trainium chips.
Amazon is investing heavily in AI infrastructure and custom chips, with a plan to spend $200 billion in capital expenditures across 2026. The company's market capitalization is currently around $2.92 trillion, while Nvidia's is about $4.86 trillion.
