Amazon Prime Air Aims for Nationwide Drone Delivery Expansion by End of 2026
Amazon's drone delivery service, Prime Air, is set for significant expansion. By the end of 2026, Prime Air plans to reach nearly 500 US cities and towns, a sixfold increase from its current footprint.
This expansion plan was revealed in a blog post by Amazon, which also mentioned that it has already made hundreds of thousands of deliveries this year, with thousands being made daily. The company aims to pair the convenience of ultrafast drone delivery with the low prices and selection customers love about Amazon, according to David Carbon, vice president of Prime Air.
Amazon's drone delivery service has been a significant contributor to its delivery capabilities. In 2025, the company delivered over 13 billion items globally at record speeds, with more than 8 billion items reaching US Prime members the same or next day, representing a 30% increase in US same- or next-day deliveries compared to the previous year.
