Amazon Prime Air Cargo Plane Crashes at Miami International Airport
On September 6, 2026, a Prime Air cargo plane operated by 21 Air crashed at Miami International Airport after overrunning the runway. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigation revealed that all five people killed in the crash were in vehicles on the ground when struck by the aircraft.
The Boeing 767-300 was making its third flight of the day, traveling from Cincinnati to Miami and then back to San Juan, Puerto Rico, before returning to Miami. The plane overran Runway 30 while landing at 1:53 p.m. ET, striking navigational equipment and two vehicles, including a white Ford Econoline van carrying seven people.
The NTSB has recovered the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder from the aircraft and is in the process of evaluating them. The investigation team, consisting of 32 personnel, will remain at the crash site for at least a week to document the scene and collect evidence.
