Amazon Prime Air Freight Plane Crashes at Miami International Airport

A Boeing 767-300F freighter operated by 21 Air for Amazon Prime Air crashed at Miami International Airport on Labor Day, killing five people and injuring five others.

The aircraft, registration N1997A, was the first of its kind to be converted under the Bedek Designed Special Freighter program and had been in service since 2016.

According to authorities, the plane ran off Runway 30, crossed a perimeter road, struck several vehicles, and caught fire. The pilot and first officer remained inside the aircraft during the crash.

The cause of the accident has not been determined, but investigators will examine factors such as wind and runway conditions, braking performance, and communications between the crew and air traffic control.
