Amazon Prime Now Included with Spectrum's Low-Income Internet Plan

Spectrum Internet customers who qualify for its low-income Internet Assist program can now enjoy Amazon Prime benefits included at no additional cost. The value of Prime, typically $139 per year or $14.99 per month, includes delivery savings, exclusive grocery benefits, and access to Prime Video entertainment among other perks. Spectrum notes that the benefit is already available to legacy Spectrum customers, with eligible legacy Cox customers expected to receive it soon.

According to Adam Ray, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer for Spectrum, 'Our goal at Spectrum is to give customers more value from the services they already count on every day.' He adds, 'That value already includes the fastest mobile service at the lowest prices, and our inclusion of programming apps in our video services at no extra charge.'

The company's decision to include Prime benefits for low-income Internet Assist customers is seen as a customer-value initiative rather than a financial move. As such, it remains to be seen what impact this will have on Spectrum's operating results.
