Amazon Prime Video Lands Rights to Broadcast Mexico's National Team Matches
Amazon Prime Video has secured the rights to broadcast Mexico's national team matches starting from September. The streaming platform will air 38 home games over four years, including friendlies, World Cup qualifying matches, and CONCACAF competitions. This move comes as Amazon continues to expand its sports offerings, following in the footsteps of Netflix.
The agreement marks a new era for El Tri, which had previously been associated with Televisa for nearly 30 years. The partnership between Amazon and Chivas de Guadalajara began in August 2024, and it seems that Amazon is now looking to build on this success by broadcasting Mexico's national team matches.
This development may be seen as a significant coup for Amazon, which has been making strides in the sports broadcasting space. With its existing partnership with Chivas de Guadalajara, Amazon appears to be establishing itself as a major player in Mexican sports broadcasting.
