Amazon Prime Video Unveils 'The Revolutionaries', A Period Drama About India's Forgotten Freedom Fighters
The upcoming Amazon Prime Video series 'The Revolutionaries' tells the untold story of forgotten heroes who contributed to India's fight for independence. Based on Sanjeev Sanyal's book 'Revolutionaries: The Other Story Of How India Won Its Freedom', the series focuses on real-life freedom fighters.
The show features a talented young cast, including Bhuvan Bam as Rash Behari Bose, one of the key members of the Ghadar Mutiny and founder of the Indian Independence League. Rohit Saraf plays Sachindra Nath Sanyal, Bose's ally and mentor to revolutionaries like Bhagat Singh and Chandra Shekhar Azad.
Pratibha Ranta stars as Pratibha Lahiri, a young woman who keeps up with anti-British literature and strikes up a romance with Sachindra. Gurfateh Pirzada plays Bagha Jatin, a principal leader of the Jugantar party and known for his bravery after wrestling and killing a tiger in his village.
The series also features colonial characters, including General Dyer played by Jason Shah, who goes up against the young revolutionaries trying to thwart their every move.
