Amazon's Q2 revenue came in near $201 billion, beating expectations, and AWS sales rose 37% to roughly $42.2 billion.

The stock jumped about 12% premarket after these results were released, while Apple shares fell around 7.3% due to the company guiding current-quarter revenue growth below estimates.

Amazon's capex guidance was increased to $220 billion as AI cloud demand remains strong, and AWS has been able to raise server-rental prices, providing a monetization channel for its services.

The BOJ held rates at 1% in an 8-1 vote, with one member dissenting in favor of a hike to 1.25%, while the US dollar is firmer after Thursday's drop, and Treasury yields are calmer after June PCE cooled.
