Amazon Pumps $6B into Shreveport Data Centers Amid Regional Investment Surge
Amazon Web Services has announced the construction of a third data center campus in northwest Louisiana, increasing its investment in the region to $18 billion. The new campus will be built at Resilient Technology Park in west Shreveport, where local officials have been working to attract major projects.
The project developer is STACK Infrastructure and Amazon plans to invest up to $400 million in public water infrastructure to support all three campuses.
According to Amazon's director of Data Center Supply Solutions, Keith Klein, the company's investment will create 210 new direct jobs, 499 indirect new jobs, for a total of 709 potential new job opportunities.
