Amazon Q2 Sales Hit Record $200.6 Billion as AWS Growth Booms

Amazon reported its highest-ever quarterly sales of $200.6 billion for Q2 2026, representing a 20% year-over-year increase.

The company's operating income soared 43% to $27.5 billion, driven by strong growth in Amazon Web Services (AWS), advertising, and artificial intelligence investments.

AWS revenue jumped 37% year over year to $42.2 billion, its fastest growth rate in 18 quarters, with an annualized revenue run rate of $169 billion.

President and Chief Executive Officer Andy Jassy attributed the success to AWS's booming business, which has surpassed expectations, as well as AI and custom chips businesses exceeding $25 billion in annual revenue.
