Amazon Reinstates Binding Arbitration, Bars Class-Action Lawsuits
Amazon has reinstated binding arbitration for its U.S. customers, making it more difficult for users to address grievances in court.
The company's new terms bar class-action lawsuits and define mass arbitration as 25 or more cases relating to the same matter within a six-month period.
This change is effective immediately, and customers agree to the terms by continuing to use Amazon's services.
Amazon previously removed binding arbitration five years ago after facing tens of thousands of costly individual cases.
