Amazon Reports $200B Revenue Quarter Amid Cloud and AI Growth

Amazon's latest earnings call highlighted exceptional demand across cloud, AI, and retail, while acknowledging mounting investment and cost pressures. The company reported a highly upbeat quarter, with revenue reaching $200.6 billion, up 20% year-over-year, and operating income jumping 43% to $27.5 billion.

AWS accelerated its growth for the fifth consecutive quarter, with revenue climbing 36.7% to $42.2 billion and an annualized run rate of $169 billion. The company's AI business now exceeds a $25 billion revenue run rate, matched by a chips operation also above $25 billion.

Amazon's retail business added millions of products, including over 700,000 from notable brands, while the grocery business claimed the position of the second-largest U.S. grocer. The company emphasized continued improvements in fulfillment and expanded its robotics fleet aggressively, planning to more than double it by 2026.
