Amazon River Missionaries See Salvation Among M People
Oklahoma missionaries Don and Dawn Friesen have dedicated their lives to spreading the Gospel among the M people in Brazil's Amazon River region. Since 2014, they've lived in a floating house on the river, using an aluminum boat named Lottie as their primary mode of transportation.
The Friesens' ministry is marked by great patience and time, as the M people do not easily trust outsiders. It took six years for them to see salvation in Christ among the M people, and even now, they face challenges in going against traditional culture and idol worship.
Despite these challenges, the Friesens have seen positive changes in the community. In one village, they've planted a church that has grown into a united body of 11 baptized believers who preach God's Word among their own people.
