Amazon Rolls Out AI-Powered Message Verification Tool
Amazon has launched a new tool to help customers verify whether messages they receive are legitimate or scams. The feature, housed under Amazon's Alexa for Shopping, uses artificial intelligence to compare customer-received messages with Amazon's own records.
The tool analyzes factors such as who sent the message, when it was sent, and how it is formatted. If a message is deemed authentic, customers will see a response stating 'Yes, this message is an official Amazon communication.'
If the message does not match Amazon's records, customers will be directed to retry or contact Amazon at verify@amazon.com. A searchable scam tracker, in partnership with the Better Business Bureau, is also available for customers to report suspicious messages.
