Amazon Sales Soar 20% in Q2, Net Income Jumps 245%
Amazon's quarterly earnings report shows significant growth in sales and revenue for the second quarter of 2026. Total sales reached $200.6 billion, a 20% increase year-over-year (FX-neutral growth was also 20%). The North America segment saw a 16% increase in sales, while international segment sales rose by 15%. Amazon Web Services (AWS) segment sales jumped 37%.
Amazon's net income increased by 245% to $62.6 billion in the second quarter. The company also reported that worldwide paid units grew 17%, with third-party sellers accounting for 61% of those units. This growth is notable, as Amazon CEO Andy Jassey had previously highlighted the importance of paid unit growth.
Amazon's quarterly earnings press release highlights several key accomplishments, including the addition of millions of new products to its selection and the launch of Amazon Supply Chain Services. The company also introduced the next-generation of Proteus, an autonomous robot that assists fulfillment center employees by moving goods up to 1,300 pounds.
In a statement on LinkedIn, Amazon CFO Brian Olsavsky praised the company's teams for delivering growth at this pace and scale while continuously improving the customer experience. He noted that Prime membership grew double digits year-over-year and that record delivery speeds were achieved for Prime members in the first half of the year.
