Amazon Series Showrunner Ed Brubaker Sued Over Alleged Racial and Sexual Harassment
A production assistant on Amazon's upcoming series 'Criminal' has filed a lawsuit against showrunner Ed Brubaker and studios involved, alleging a hostile work environment that included racial and sexual harassment.
Ijaaz Noohu claims he was subjected to repeated and pervasive sexual harassment by his boss, acclaimed comic book writer Ed Brubaker, who allegedly made comments about running his hands through Noohu's hair, joked about rape, and rubbed Noohu's back. Brubaker also reportedly parroted demeaning stereotypes about curry and made jokes about Noohu's presumed aptitude for math.
Noohu was born in Sri Lanka but raised in Los Angeles, and he claims that Brubaker frequently asked him if he supports the terrorist organization Hamas. According to the suit, Noohu was eventually banned from the set of 'Criminal' for challenging the alleged misconduct.
