Amazon Stock Slips After Briefly Topping $3 Trillion
Amazon's stock price surpassed $3 trillion in value on Tuesday before plummeting by over 2% later that day.
Jeff Bezos, Amazon's founder, filed a Form 144 notice to sell 15 million shares, which would be worth around $4.07 billion at the current market price of $271.58 per share.
However, the sale was priced before the record-breaking stock price, not after, as the same shares were valued at roughly $4.26 billion on Monday's close, when Amazon reached an all-time high of $284.02 and touched a daily high of $287.20.
The sales follow Bezos' Rule 10b5-1 plan set up in November 2025, which allows insiders to trade shares at predetermined times without being accused of insider trading.
