Amazon Stocks Soar Past $3 Trillion Mark on AI Infrastructure Growth

Amazon's stock price surged 4.7% on Monday, crossing the $3 trillion market-cap threshold and reaching an intraday high near $287.

The company's accelerating cloud growth has investors valuing Amazon as a leader in AI infrastructure, justifying extraordinary capital spending.

Amazon's AWS segment supplied the clearest reason for the valuation reset, with cloud revenue accelerating to 37% growth from 28% in the preceding quarter and reaching $42.2 billion.

The segment's operating income climbed 64% to $16.6 billion, giving it a 39.4% margin and accounting for roughly 60% of Amazon's total operating profit.

Despite this performance, investors should watch whether AWS can sustain growth above 30%, convert backlog into revenue, and preserve margins as depreciation and infrastructure expenses rise.
