Amazon Sued Over Alleged Discrimination Against Pregnant Workers

A group of former Amazon warehouse employees has filed a proposed nationwide class action lawsuit against the company for allegedly discriminating against pregnant workers.

The four plaintiffs claim that Amazon denied them basic accommodations, such as stools and lighter workloads, and penalized some who took breaks to pump milk or time off for hospital visits.

The suit accuses Amazon of violating the 2022 Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, which requires employers with 15 or more workers to provide reasonable accommodations for pregnancy-related medical conditions.

Amazon has denied the accusations, saying that the lawsuit's description of events is inaccurate and that it has approved over 99.9% of pregnancy-related accommodations over the past year.
