Amazon Sued Over Inflated Advertising Prices to Millions of Customers
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and 22 US states have filed a lawsuit against Amazon, accusing the online retailer of inflating advertising prices.
The complaint alleges that Amazon misled its 1.2 million advertising customers by offering 'competitive prices' on several ad products when in fact it was charging them higher prices through online auctions.
The FTC claims that Amazon's actions were a form of deception, resulting in significantly higher payments for these customers.
In response to the lawsuit, Amazon released a statement denying any wrongdoing, calling the allegations 'patently false'.
