Amazon Suspends Operations With Cargo Carrier After Fatal Plane Crash
Amazon has suspended its business relationship with cargo carrier 21 Air after a fatal plane crash at Miami International Airport. The incident occurred on September 6, when a Boeing 767 freighter operated by 21 Air left the runway and collided with two vehicles, killing five people on the ground.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating the crash and has released cockpit recordings showing that one pilot called for the landing to be discontinued after the aircraft touched down at a high speed. The investigation remains ongoing.
Amazon stated that it had been assisting investigators and reviewing the circumstances surrounding the accident before deciding to pause operations with 21 Air. The company said it would continue supporting those affected and the investigation.
