Amazon Suspends Partner After Cargo Plane Crash Kills Five

Amazon has suspended its partnership with cargo carrier 21 Air after one of its planes crashed off a Miami runway, killing five people. The Boeing 767, which was carrying Amazon packages, came in too fast and careened 1,300 feet past the end of the runway before smashing into a van.

The incident occurred on September 6, when Flight 7598 overshot the runway at Miami International Airport. Five people were killed in the crash, while five others were injured.

Amazon spokesperson Kelly Nantel said that after reviewing the circumstances surrounding the incident, the company decided to pause its operations with 21 Air. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash and will review factors such as weather conditions, maintenance records, and the jet's ownership history.
