Amazon Unveils Exclusive B2B Discount Type with Enhanced Visibility
Amazon has introduced a new business-only discount type for third-party sellers on its platform. The feature, available in ten marketplaces, allows sellers to create exclusive deals for Amazon Business customers. This means that registered business buyers can see discounts that are not visible to individual consumers.
The minimum reductions for standard deals are 10%, while High Velocity Event deals require a 15% discount. These deals must be priced against the seller's Business Price, which is separate from the public listing price. Sellers can choose between a Fixed Price construction and a Percent Off construction for their deals.
Business Deals have several unique features compared to traditional Price Discounts. They can last anywhere from one hour to 30 days, and they are eligible only for products with existing Business Prices. This means that sellers must configure a Business Price per ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number) before creating a Business Deal.
The new feature also includes enhanced visibility through dedicated email and push notification campaigns during major shopping events like Prime Big Deal Days, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday. However, this benefit is only available until December 31, 2026.
Amazon's notice does not address whether Business Deals carry a promotion fee or how they interact with other promotional eligibility systems. One seller raised concerns about the potential impact on consumer-facing deal eligibility, highlighting the need for sellers to understand the rules and requirements for this new feature.
