Amazon Unveils Multibillion-Dollar Robotics Facility in Austin
Amazon is expanding its presence in Austin, Texas, by investing in a new multibillion-dollar robotics manufacturing facility. The facility will create hundreds of jobs in the area and marks the company's continued growth in the state.
The project aims to bring an estimated 300-500 manufacturing and engineering jobs to the Austin region, with the city's workforce, universities, and community partnerships cited as key factors in Amazon's decision.
Amazon has invested over $100 billion in Texas since 2010, including infrastructure and compensation for its 86,000 full-and part-time employees across the state. The company's Vice President of Worldwide Economic Development, Holly Sullivan, highlighted Austin's talented workforce and community partnerships as reasons for the investment.
