Amazon Unveils Multibillion-Dollar Robotics Plant in Austin, Texas
Amazon is expanding its presence in Texas by building a multibillion-dollar robotics manufacturing facility in Austin. This new facility will create between 300 and 500 jobs for engineers and manufacturers.
The company cited Austin's skilled workforce and strong community partnerships as reasons for the expansion, with Amazon Vice President of Worldwide Economic Development Holly Sullivan stating that they chose the city due to its 'workforce, strong community partnerships, and several notable universities.'
Since 2010, Amazon has invested over $100 billion in Texas, including infrastructure and compensation for its 86,000 employees in the state.
