Amazon's $220B Bond Frenzy Fuels AWS Growth Surge
Amazon's (AMZN) recent bond issuance has reached an astonishing $220 billion year-to-date, more than double its 2025 figure of $108 billion. This surge in debt is aimed at funding Amazon's operations and investments in artificial intelligence.
AWS, Amazon's cloud computing division, continues to thrive, with revenue growth jumping from around 20% to over 30% due to increased demand for AI-related services. Additionally, Amazon's retail unit volumes rose 15% in the first quarter of this year, marking the fastest increase since 2021.
Amazon has also made it clear that Twitch creators can opt-in to a content-control setting, allowing viewers to still send chat data even if the creator chooses not to display it. This move comes as Amazon continues to invest heavily in cloud and AI services.
