Amazon's $5B Butler County Data Center Plans Spark Local Excitement

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is in negotiations to build a massive data center campus in Butler County, Ohio. The proposed site spans over 601 acres in Madison Township and St. Clair Township, just south of Trenton.

The project would consist of 18 buildings, each approximately 220,000 square feet in size. This is comparable to the Prologis' four-building data center project located northeast of the AWS site within Trenton's city limits.

While details about the project are scarce, it's reported that Amazon has already operated a data center campus in Dublin. The company's subsidiary, AWS, has been expanding its presence in the region.
