Amazon's Chip Ambitions Test Nvidia's Dominance

Nvidia's dominance in the trillion-dollar chip market is facing increasing competition from its customers and rivals. Amazon, one of Nvidia's biggest clients, has developed its own data center chips and even sells them to third parties.

Amazon's CEO Andy Jassy boasts that if their semiconductor operation were a standalone business, it would generate over $25 billion in annual revenue, growing by triple digits. He expressed excitement about the company's chips business during a conference call in July.

Nvidia is still growing faster than many of its challengers and has expanded into software, networking, and other technologies to maintain its position in the AI economy.
