Amazon's Data Center Construction Causes Havoc for Virginia Homeowner
A homeowner in Louisa County, Virginia is suing Amazon over disruptions caused by the construction of a data center campus across from his property.
Austin Newsom filed a lawsuit against Amazon in August 2025, claiming that the constant noise, dust, and vibrations from the construction are affecting his home and business.
Newsom alleged that the project is devaluing his home, disrupting drainage, and affecting his mental health. He also claimed that customers have had near-accidents with trucks carrying materials for the data center.
The case is moving forward in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia, with a preliminary hearing set for August 19.
