Amazon's E-Commerce Empire Surpasses Exxon's Total Value
Amazon's e-commerce empire is often overlooked by investors, who tend to focus on the company's other divisions. However, its e-commerce business has surpassed $700 billion in revenue, with a run rate that suggests it will exceed $750 billion.
This puts Amazon's e-commerce division on par with Exxon's total value and larger than Microsoft's. In fact, including AWS, Amazon was the No.1 company among the Fortune 500 last year, surpassing Walmart.
Amazon's e-commerce revenue comes from both North America and International, with the latter accounting for a quarter of the total. The operating profit for North America is expected to be around $35 billion this year, while International will likely generate around $7 billion.
AWS revenue is projected to reach $180 billion in 2026, based on its current growth rate of around 40%. In contrast, e-commerce revenue is growing at a slower pace of about 18%.
